Services in the header groups the directory by what you’re after rather than by who provides it.

Services groups the directory by what you're looking for rather than by discipline

Each service page covers what’s involved, what it typically costs, whether a rebate applies, and which disciplines deliver it, then hands you to a search for that service near you.

Searching

Two boxes at the top. Nothing runs until you select Search or press Enter. Both boxes suggest as you type. Search ADHD screening and you’ll find a menu that says ADHD assessment. Every word must match something, so fewer words find more people. Filters

Filters sit in a column beside the results, with Clear all at the top. Options inside a group widen your results; options across groups narrow them.
Only care types open for bookings: Psychology, Counselling, Social Workers, Mental Health Support Workers, and Art & Music Therapy. See Care types.
Services rather than disciplines — assessments, initial consultations, couples work — drawn from what therapists offer.
Adults, Couples, Teenagers, Children, or Carers and families. A therapist who has never answered is treated as seeing adults, which is what the directory has always assumed.
The same concerns as matching — anxiety, trauma, grief, ADHD, and the rest. A tick here matches what the therapist publishes as a focus, not a search of their bio.
Approaches they named: CBT, EMDR, ACT, schema, psychodynamic, and the others on the list.

Instant booking, Request to book, or Waitlist. Instant and request only match therapists you can book today; waitlist is everyone whose profile would open that form instead.
Per session: under $130, $130–$170, $170–$220, $220+. Per hour: under $80, $80+. The two never mix in the same band. No gap with Medicare is a price filter too — therapists whose listed fee is covered in full by the Medicare benefit. Those listings also wear a No gap badge on the card.

Built from therapists who answered the question. Ticking it hides anyone who hasn’t, which is why matching weights the preference instead.

Filters live in the page address, so you can bookmark a search or send it on. A link ending ?care=psychology&near=marrickville opens the same results.

Sorting

The count above the results reads Showing 12 of 40 therapists when filters are narrowing things, and just the count when they aren’t.

The map

The map appears once place is in play: a real suburb in Where, or an in-person or home-visit filter. Type online and it stays a list. The List and Map toggle forces either.

Pins carry the price, merge into a count bubble you can zoom into when they sit close together, and only draw a radius when the pin belongs to one person. Location matching covers every clinic a therapist works from, plus anywhere they’ll travel to.

Filters open as a bottom sheet, and the button at the bottom counts the result — Show 12 therapists.

Clear all filters clears the two search boxes as well. Price, gender and language are usually the ones doing the narrowing.
