# Browse the directory

> Search, filter and sort every therapist on Open Therapy, and use the map to find someone near you.

If you'd rather look for yourself than answer questions, **Browse** gives you the full list with everything filterable.

## Searching

Two boxes at the top:

| Box                             | What it matches                                                                         |
| ------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **What do you need help with?** | Name, discipline, focus, specialties, suburb, city, and the services a therapist offers |
| **Where** | A suburb or city, or "online" |

Service search understands that practices name the same thing differently. Searching *ADHD screening* will find a therapist whose menu says *ADHD assessment*.

## Filters

Options inside a group widen your results; options across groups narrow them. Choosing both Psychology and Counselling shows you both, but adding a language filter narrows that to therapists who speak it.

    Behaviour support, Art & music therapy, Dietetics, Exercise physiology, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy,
    Chiropractic, Podiatry.

  <Accordion title="Service" icon="list-checks">

    the rest, drawn from what therapists actually offer.

  <Accordion title="Availability" icon="clock">

  <Accordion title="Session mode" icon="video">

  <Accordion title="Price" icon="dollar-sign">
    Per session: under \$130, \$130–\$170, \$170–\$220, \$220+. Per hour: under \$80, \$80+.

    Session fees and hourly support rates never mix in the same band, so a support worker's four-hour
    minimum block doesn't get swept into "under \$130".
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Funding" icon="badge-percent">
    Medicare rebate, NDIS, Private health.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Language" icon="languages">

<Tip>
  Your filters live in the page address, so you can bookmark a search or send it to someone. A link
  ending `?care=psychology&near=marrickville` opens the same results for them.
</Tip>

## Sorting

* **Soonest available** — the default
* **Highest rated**
* **Lowest price**

## The map

The map appears automatically once you show interest in a place — a suburb in the **Where** box, or an in-person or home-visit filter. You can force it either way with the **List** and **Map** toggle.

| Pin                       | Meaning                                                                   |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Solid** | An address you can attend |
| **Dashed**, with a circle | The centre of a travel radius — the circle is how far they'll come to you |

Pins show the price. Pins close together merge into a count bubble you can zoom into.

Location matching covers *every* clinic a therapist works from, plus anywhere they'll travel to, not just their first listed address.

## On a phone

Filters open as a bottom sheet with a button showing what you'll get — **Show 12 therapists** — so you can see the effect before closing it.

## No results

You'll get a **Clear all filters** button. Price and language are usually the two doing the narrowing.
